Welcome Green960 Fixers!

This effort to fix our favorite radio station was initiated by Susan, who suggested the creation of this site as a way to facilitate the easy collection and sharing of information pertinent to the goal of saving Green960 from the utterly awful and seemingly non-sensical programming changes made in July, 2009 to the station's lineup by programming director John Scott (click here to read Scott's post about these recent changes and the multitude of negative listener comments indicating tremendous and widespread listener disappointment and disapproval of his actions).

Our main beef (among others) is that since The Thom Hartmann Show is widely recognized and loved as the best liberal talk show in America today, and since Thom's program is so perfectly suited to the unique progressive community in the SF Bay Area, this wonderful radio show should NOT have been moved out of the coveted 9am to 12noon slot and demoted to only two hours per weekday on Green960! It's obvious that this is a held by a great many loyal fans of Green960; nevertheless, for some reason, John Scott appears not to be listening to Green960 listeners.

Those of you who agree with this position are welcome and encouraged to join in and work to fix Green960!

To become a member of this group blog, you must send an email to: letsfixgreen960@gmail.com stating your request, telling us a little about yourself, and delineating in your own words why you want to join us (membership is decided and managed solely by the site administrators ... but don't worry, we're easy).

Now, lets ...

Fix Green960!

  1. Hi all! Thanks, Chris for setting up this group. Susan and all has an appointment been made to meet with John Scott Wednesday?

  2. This is just a test comment. Susan was saying she had some trouble entering a comment. I did too, initially ... until I first signed into my google account, and then filled out the comment field and hit "Post."

Strange; you'd think blogger would let you write the comment and then sign in to enable the comment to post.

Anyway, it seems perhaps best to make a habit of first signing in to one's google account, before posting comments on this blog.

  3. Hello Gail et al., I've set up a meeting with John Scott for 2:00 on Wed. He'd originally extended a personal invitation to me for a meeting, but he knows that I'll be bringing some friends with me.
We'll be going to the Green 960 offices at 340 Townsend (and 4th St,) in SF. We've been directed to go into the lobby where we'll be directed to the 4th floor to meet with JS.
It's been suggested that we meet up at my place prior to heading out together in one car. That's fine with me. Please see your email inbox for my address, cell phone number and other private details.
If you'd prefer to meet up somewhere else, suggestions are welcome.
    Susan

  4. I can't imagine not having Thom Hartmann on 960 during the prime hours in the morning. He has so many facts that we all need to hear. Bill D.

  5. This is exactlly what they did to KLSD in San Diego just started taking off shows that had the listeners and putting on things like Ed Schultz then when he got taken off too started a little noise about it at the end when it was all to little to late! Hope you can do something? Here in LA it is almost Basketball time again and Mike will be pre-empted here 90% of the time
